How are Golden Companions services different to that of a care company?

Golden Companion help with the every day things that make life at home more comfortable, enjoyable, and reassuring. Whilst we don't provide personal care or medical assistance, we offer genuine companionship and practical personal assistance tailored to each persons needs. This can include help with errands, accompanying clients to appointments, light household tasks, or simply spending meaningful time together.

How are companions matched?

Companions are matched with clients based on personality, interests, hobbies and schedule preferences. We arrange an initial meeting to ensure both parties feel comfortable before beginning regular visits.

With over 7 years of care experience, we recognise how important it is to match people thoughtfully, building trust through consistency, familiarity, and clear communication. Visits are never rushed, and we regularly check in with families to ensure everything feels right, giving reassurance that your loved one is in caring, experienced hands.

If your regular companion is on holiday or unwell, we provide a carefully selected replacement who has been briefed on preferences and requirements.

How does your pricing work?

Companionship visits from £29 per hour. We aim to be as flexible as possible with no long-term contract, but we do require a week's notice to cancel.

Weekend visits from £31 an hour.

Christmas day, Boxing day and Public holidays at £50 per hour.

Is there an initial sign up fee?

There is an initial £30 fee to cover administration and our companion's' time at your first meeting. You only pay this once you and your loved one are happy with their companion match and want to proceed.

Is there a minimum visit time?

Yes, our minimum visit time is an hour. We work alongside you to create a tailored schedule.

What if schedule changes required?

Schedule changes require 48 hours notice.

Late cancellations incur 70% of the standard rate to ensure fair compensation for our companions.

Are your companions licensed drivers?

All companions are licensed drivers with insured vehicles.

Client transport available at 40p per mile. Mileage fees go directly to companions.
